Whipple Auto Body has been a member of BizX since 2007 doing almost $100,000 in business since then. This family run business operates out of their Hayward location in the Bay Area.

The auto body shop, known for their brilliant work restoring or fixing cars, has been a fixture in the local community for decades. It’s more than just the business that has shaped their direction – it’s the love of cars.

“I just love cars, I love everything about them,” says Juan Lara, who owns Whipple Auto Body. “If I’m not working on a weekend, you can usually find me at a car show or working on one of my own cars for fun. It’s in my blood and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else.”

"We wanted to make sure that we were running at full capacity,” said Lara. “We have staff that are here every day, regardless if we’re working on a car or not. We pay our rent whether we have people coming in for car work or not. Our workers come whether it’s a busy or a slow day. So, we figured we’d attempt to monetize our excess time, inventory – whatever - during the day, make sure we’re running at full capacity – and BizX has been a great fit.”

Whipple Auto Body has been able to create a nice stream of business that ordinarily would not have existed. It’s with these funds that the owner has been able to purchase everything from wine to shirts for his softball team. Perhaps most importantly, he’s been able to use the funds to support his other lifelong love: the Raiders.

“I’m a huge Raider fan, and I have been for a long time. I bleed Silver and Black,” Lara says. “I use my BizX $ to purchase my Raiders season tickets every year, and it’s a great way to show friends, family, or business associates how much I appreciate them. Plus, it’s a little selfish. I love football.”

Remember, Lara first joined BizX because he wanted to monetize his excess capacity. He wanted to run as close to full capacity as possible, and he wanted to use those extra dollars on personal and business expenses. With his Raiders season tickets, he’s able to take both family, and employees, to games. It is at O.Co Coliseum where Lara and his workers can socialize outside of the office, in a comfortable environment, where he can show his appreciation for their loyalty and commitment.

“It’s the best thing I’ve ever done,” Lara says. “I can take care of employees or special vendors that I might normally not have the capability to do. If you’re a small or medium-sized business, it’s a no-brainer. The relationship with BizX has been great, and has really exceeded all of my expectations.”

Going forward, Lara says he’d like to get even more BizX business. He wants to make sure his shop is always humming along, and he also enjoys the relationships that have developed because of his partnership.

“I’ve met some great people, some great business owners,” Lara said. “I’ve even gotten new, incremental, cash business because of my engagement with BizX. You know how it is in our industry when you do a good job? Referrals…word of mouth….You never know what can happen when you put yourself out there, and this relationship has really improved my company’s bottom line, and has taken us in directions we never could have imagined.”
